Congratulations to the Kick the Can Challenge Winner

Thank you to all of the Community Builders in each participating area for making the Green Team’s second Greening Our Routine challenge a success! Because of your effort, we saw a reduction in waste generated and an increase in recycling volumes.

Kick the Can Challenge Results:

• Overall waste generation decreased by 55%, eliminating 183 tons of solid waste per year;

• Recycling volumes increased in 70% of areas;

• Increased recycling would fill 250 MORE blue carts over a year; and

• Waste contamination decreased by 75%.

Challenge Dates: October 10, 2016 – November 18, 2016 (6 weeks)
