As a coastal community, our beach, ocean and the wildlife that call both home, are some of our most valuable resources. We are doing what we can and what needs to be done to protect these beautiful places and creatures from changes in the climate and from the inevitable impact of humans. With hundreds of thousands of people traversing our seven miles of beach each year, thousands of boats in our waters, ongoing development driven by growth, and major storms every now and then, there is a lot of work to be done.
This section of our website allows you to explore what we and our partners are doing to protect and grow our offshore reefs, preserve our beaches and dunes, keep the sand clean for everyone, and especially for sea turtles who nest with us every season.
