Wind Turbines in Fort Lauderdale
Mills Pond Park (2201 NW 9 Avenue) is home to the City of Fort Lauderdale's first publicly-funded wind turbines and electric vehicle charging stations. This exciting green initiative will save energy, conserve natural resources, and protect and preserve our environment. The $221,000 project was funded by a federal energy efficiency and conservation block grant. It allows the City to test the technology as well as capture data on usage which will serve as a guide to future installations.
