Saint Anthony Knights of Columbus Host 5K 4 Kids Race to Benefit
Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center
Fort Lauderdale, FL (November 7, 2014) – The Saint Anthony Knights of Columbus will host the 5K 4 Kids on Saturday,
January 10, 2015 at 7:00 a.m. The 4th annual race will once again benefit the Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center and double-amputee, CDTC “Kid’s Hero” and gold medal track star, Brian Douglas, will once again serve as the 5K 4 Kids motivating Race Captain.
More than 300 runners of all ages are anticipated to participate in this year’s 5K 4 Kids race which winds through a scenic new course this year in the historic Victoria Park neighborhood in Fort Lauderdale. The certified and timed 5 kilometer (3.1 mile) race is suitable for all ages and experience levels of runners and walkers.

Participants in the 5K 4 Kids will meet at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and School, located at 901 NE 2nd Street, Fort Lauderdale. Pre-registration cost for an adult is $30/$35 on race day. Proceeds from the 5K 4 Kids will benefit special needs children from Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center and provide scholarship opportunities for the Saint Anthony Foundation for Education. The Saint Anthony Knights of Columbus began the 5K 4 Kids Race as a way to help support the needy children of Broward County. Proceeds from the event will benefit CDTC and the Saint Anthony Foundation for Education.
The Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center (CDTC) is a not-for-profit organization that serves more than 11,000 children with special health care needs in Broward County. CDTC’s mission is to promote the optimal health and well-being of children with special health care needs by providing comprehensive prevention, intervention and treatment services within a medical home environment. CDTC is a nationally recognized “Center of Excellence,” offering a unique system of care for infants, children and youth with chronic illnesses, disabilities and developmental delays. All medical care and social services are provided regardless of the families’ ability to pay.
