Join the Fort Lauderdale City Commission and the Citizens’ Committee of Recognition for the 41st Annual Citizens Recognition Awards on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Fort Lauderdale City Hall, 100 N. Andrews Avenue (click image above to view invitation).

The Citizens Recognition Awards recognize Fort Lauderdale citizens whose efforts and achievements foster civic pride and responsibility, encourage public service, develop appreciation of the City's heritage, and significantly contribute to the development of this community.

Since the program’s inception in 1972, Fort Lauderdale has recognized 126 outstanding citizens. Congratulations to this year’s honorees:

Citizen of the Year – Sharon Major-Hughes

Distinguished Citizen – Donald Singer

Honored Founder – Stanford K. Smoker

Exemplary Former Employee – Greg Brewton
