SISTRUNK FESTIVAL
The Sistrunk Festival will be held at Mills Pond Park, 2201 NW 9th Avenue; Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311. Gates will open at noon and the event will end at 8 p.m. Click here to visit the event website.
Vehicles will enter at the NW 9th Avenue entrance and pedestrians can enter at the NW 15th Avenue gate. The Fort Lauderdale Police Department in conjunction with the event’s private security firm will conduct public safety checks at both gates upon entrance into the event.
SISTRUNK PARADE STREET CLOSURES
The City of Fort Lauderdale will be closing several streets Saturday, February 28, 2015 for the Sistrunk Parade. The parade begins at 9 a.m. at the Mount Olive Baptist Church located at 400 NW 9th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33311 and ends at 11 a.m. in Delevoe Park.
Closures and times are as follows:
- NW 9th Avenue will be closed beginning at 7:00 am from NW 3rd Street to NW 6th Street - only parade participants will be allowed entrance
- NW 6th Street will be closed at 8:30 am from NW 9th Avenue to NW 27th Avenue until 11:00 am
- NW 6th Street will be closed from NW 27th Avenue to NW 24th Avenue from 6:00 am to 11:00 am
- NW 4th Street will be closed at 8th and 9th Avenues from 7:00 am to 9:30 am
Residents in Sweeting Estates will be detoured out of the neighborhood via NW 21st Terrace and be directed eastbound to NW 21st Avenue.
Residents north of NW 6th Street and west of I-95 will be detoured northbound on NW 22nd Road towards Sunrise Boulevard.
