Egg cartons generally come in three varieties and can be disposed of as follows.

Paperboard or pulp paper  Recycle or compost
Foam (polystyrene or other)  Return to store. Drop in specially marked bins.

Plastic

  If marked with a #1, it can be recycled. If not, please upcycle or place in the garbage.
